We are Yardarm.
We opened on Dec 12th 2015 having completed half of our renovation work, just enough to be able to get some wine in and introduce ourselves to our neighbours. Early 2016 saw the launch of our back shop and tasting room with the final phase, our garden being opened in time for summer. We also had a baby.
Having run wine shops, delis and restaurants, we designed Yardarm with our favourite things in mind: wine, beer, spirits, coffee and foods that we love to eat with them. Part booze shop, part provisions, offering tastings too.
Wine exams done (until Eliza can be tempted by the big MW), we decided to ditch the textbooks and bring back a bit fun, holding informal tastings around our sharing table that tell a story about our wines, that don’t cost the world, and that can help find the best-matched tipple for that dish you have perfected.
We also now offer official Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses and exams.
Autumn 2017 saw the opening of the restaurant next door to Yardarm. This runs as a residency and collaborative space. For updates on the current chefs please sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram.
We are family run and love being part of the community on Francis Road.

When it comes to all our retail products, we source quality, honestly made stuff that we really like. It’s pretty much as simple as that. We are lucky to have excellent local makers, all within a stones throw of the shop who have become both friends and collaborators.
We showcase our current favourite wines and beers by the glass in our bar and serve coffee too.
We also hold regular public and private tastings as well as supper club collaborations. See below for details on tasting options and click on our blog page for the latest calendar.
For wedding wine, dinner party wine matches, small hen and stag tasting parties or any other enquiries email email@example.com
For orders over £200 we can deliver locally for free.
The perfect gift!
We can work to your budget and pick a selection of food and booze matches or curate a local East London or even more local a Leyton Hamper…
Or simply choose your own selection, buy your box for a fiver and we will gift wrap it for you. Our hampers are recyclable, high quality black cardboard tied with ribbon. We sell gift cards too.
Our mixed cases can be made up for any occasion but are perfect for weddings and Christmas. We can suggest bottles to celebrate with, some to savour with food, and others to lay down for wedding anniversaries.
They come in cases of 6, gift wrapped.
Our tastings run every couple of weeks and cost £25 a head. We taste 6 wines, eat nibbles and talk through the selection. They are informal but designed with knowledge and care, focusing on what’s actually going on in the glass and giving practical advice on choosing wine to suit your taste. To see what’s on and book online go to our shop page
We can also offer our sharing table to private groups for tastings. Gather a group of 10 people or more and we can design a tasting (and a menu if you wish) specific to your interests. drop us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
What people say
‘Went to a fantastic wine tasting event last night. Great fun, super knowledgeable but accessible information and generous wine, charcuterie and cheese! The owners are always happy to offer food matching and suggestions for a bottle to take home. This is a great place and the best thing to happen to this part of Leyton since we’ve been here!’
‘Ace. There for all our needs. Well as long as they are food and drink based.’
‘Really lovely place to relax, have drinks and catch up with friends. The owners are really friendly and there’s such a lovely atmosphere. The selection and wines and ales are great, AND they also serve Espresso Martinis. Being a local, this is a great addition to Leyton…adds to the lovely community feel!!!’
